The Kiki

Kiki is of Japanese origin, and is called in Japan Monchhichi. It was created on January 26, 1974 in Tokyo for his company, Sekiguchi, a major doll manufacturer in his country. Sekiguchi is said to have created this stuffed animal to instill respect and love in young children. The Kikis are distributed in France under the brand name Ajena which is a brand of the Nounours group founded in 1962, one of the last companies to produce plush toys in France. The first Kiki had blue eyes. However, a new series of Kiki was launched in 1985 from the Netherlands: it was when their eyes took on the brown colour they still sport today. However, they reappeared around the 2010s in the name of Monchhichi with new clothes and sizes as key rings and remain in the star toys of the 1980s.
