In 1953, Aimée FRENAY, a mother who wanted to give her two little twins a teddy bear, went in search of these sweet plantigrades. The Boulgom brand was born in 1954 in France. Its creator, Robert Frenay, is the inventor of the molded latex foam jam, which he used then in orthopedics.

Later, Robert is a pioneer on the safety of children and evolves the materials of soft toys by replacing latex with polyurethane foam. The 80s mark the heyday of the brand.

But towards the end of the 80s, the Asian market invaded Europe with much cheaper soft toys. The brand then ceases to produce soft toys under the name Boulgom
